We can learn many important lessons from wise and also compassionate President Abe Lincoln, Union Army leaders Sherman and Grant and also wise, defeated Confederate Army leader Robert E. Lee.
Robert E. Lee was reasonable and objective when he ACCEPTED DEFEAT by coming to terms that further resistance was futile and also IMMORAL.
Robert E. Lee accepted the fact that the cause of ABOLISHING SLAVERY was just and that the war should end. He refused to be the holdout and PERPETUATE THE CRUEL INJUSTICE OF SLAVERY.
Robert E. Lee also realized that a HOUSE DIVIDED could not stand and knew the Confederate was very divided and the Union was not. He was not going to continue to fight for slavery which he began to realize was TREASON to the United States and to Democracy.
Robert E. Lee set the example for others to follow by “LOOKING BEYOND YOURSELF” by supporting a just and reasonable cause of abolishing slavery and not to be afraid of living in a world following the laws; NO LONGER controlling others so you can be corrupt and immoral and abuse your authority. Robert E. Lee realized this was no way to live and thus BECAME A HERO IN DEFEAT just as he had been a hero in war.
Robert E. Lee admitted his mistakes and helped other Confederates do the same. He also helped in the Reconstruction of the United States AS A NATION WITH EQUAL RIGHTS. He graciously and diligently led by example.
President Lincoln also admired Lee’s gracious and reasonable acceptance of defeat.
Lincoln also showed the world that assassinating him only made the Union stronger, it did not reinstate the Confederate’s immoral and horrific philosophy of slavery and that people are property of another and do not have equal rights.
Thus, anyone who TRIES TO DENY ME and millions like me suffering from a denial of our legal and constitutional rights will either change by following the anti-slavery and the equal rights laws Lincoln helped pass and Lee encouraged others to embrace while graciously accepting defeat or face defeat and its legal punishments and sanctions.
Depriving loving, law-abiding Mothers and their children of their rights is a very serious crime, not just against them but also against HUMANITY and DEMOCRACY.
I hope you are having a nice President’s Weekend and remembering what Lincoln and other great Presidents accomplished in furtherance of Truth, Justice and Equal Rights.
As always, none of this is legal or any other advice; it is based upon my knowledge and experience.
